Morrissey at The Capitol Theatre

This was my second time shooting Morrissey in as many months, the first time being at Terminal 5 in NYC back in November.  This was a vastly different shoot than the first time I covered Morrissey.  The lighting at Terminal 5 was beautiful, but it was fairly terrible this night at The Capitol Theatre.  And it wasn’t the venue’s fault.  The lighting arrangement was hirrific for at least half of the 2 songs we were allowed to shoot.  It was great for one song.

This was a vastly ifferent crowd than at Terminal 5.  Much more subdued, older crowd.  Not as many people storming the stage to hug Morrissey this time.  Most of this set was the 5D3 with the 24-70 at around 2500 ISO.  Even during the first song, trying to expose Morrissey properly completely blew out the background so nothing was helping.  It was 10 phoographers with their cameras at their hips.
