Photos: Matt Nathanson at Terminal 5 NYC 9.30.11

Terminal 5, NYC, 9.30.11 – Matt Nathanson has been working his way through the music industry for almost 20 years putting together a nice following of fans.  But it wasn’t until recently that he started to gain some mainstream recognition.  In front of a lot of loyal fans, both new and old, Matt was funny, endearing and, most importantly, happy to be on stage.  And when you present that to the crowd, they feed off of it.  Opening with a cover of Florence & The Machine, he played to, and with the crowd all evening.

The pit was a bit different than earlier in the week at Foster the People.  I shot with a few other people this night but didn’t have to worry about getting bumped around or moving around for angles.  Lighting was ok.  A bit too red for my taste but the back light was fun to play with.  Most of these were ISO1600 with both my bodies and 2 zooms.
